In Progress

I should be showing you the beginnings of my 6 squares for a special surprise bl... oh I better stop I dunnno if she reads this or not - probably not but just to be on the safe side.

Instead I present my latest obsession -

only on the needle for a sum total of two tram rides and already I want to spend every possible second knitting it. The feel of the soft 4 ply baby wool and soft needles is really nice. I even contemplated knitting while on a teleconference today (hell I can multi task with the best of them) but I was in an office with floor to ceiling glass windows and thought better of it lest the CEO walk past and cathc me in the act.

I am also obssessed with slippers at the moment (oh and stripes - I heart stripes)

I got a surprise call from a friend of mine who was very excited to announce the arrival of her new Amy Butler fabric tonight. I talked about how mine is a kind of work in progress - I have plenty of works planned but I am too scared to cut the prettiness.

And Kristie, while I think of it (this one is no longer a work in progress) this is the pattern I used to make my skirt a couple of weeks ago. I used red and white gingham and I am pleased to say it looked far less sporty and a bit longer than the pattern suggests. It was very quick and easy and I have had a bunch of nice comments about it.

Hey, thanks SadieandLance! you're right, the pattern does look sporty and short, but I trust your word! The fabric i have is 'tea garden Chelsea Rose' - www.fredtheneedle.com/detail.aspx?ID=704
    Still lovin it!

Hmm so your fabric must be different to the ones I have?? Yes, yes ignore the sporty skirt - looks great in cotton just add some extra length when you cut the fabric out.

I really love the stripey slippers you are knitting. There's nothing better when your house is full of floorboards.

Yes, I recently added to my Amy Butler stash and am also paralyzed by their prettiness. I think I may add "fabric collector" to my list of hobbies and leave it at that!
