The Good The Bad and The Ugly

It's been a really shyte week - last week that is, this week is a new week although it looks like it could be shaping up to match it with last week, but I might just scrape through. Did you have a crappy week last week? I took a short poll and quite a few people around me had an extremely crap week last week. Must be the moon or the sun or the morons that keep popping into my life.

Whoops when I first thought about this post (on a tram or during some enthralling and important meeting, I can't remember) I thought I'd better start out with some craft, The Good:

A hand sewn sanity badge - the sanity is mine and the badge, well it's quite small and made of felt and hand sewing and helped me to keep my sanity over the past week. I imagine you wearing it on your coat or on your gorgeous homemade handbag or something like that. I'm working on some others. Feel free to claim it if you want.

So the rest is the bad and the ugly (although perhaps you're thinking that photo up there also qualifies as the bad and the ugly, so did I but whatever).

Where was I? Oh yeah woe is me. So the week culminated on Saturday afternoon as we sat and discussed the aftermath of our week involving NO craft (oh other than the sanity badge - all of this was of little concern to Mr Sadieandlance). The support crew were here to console us for the reason for lack of craft time was that during the week we tried to buy a house - unsuccessfully. The Bad.

Somehow during an extremely busy work week (which included attendance at a very 'special' awards ceremony that we like to call 'The Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Excellence' - I think Mr Burns held them once?!) we somehow scrambled around to do all those important pre house auction things (that take a naive first home buyer 15 times the time taken by a seasoned empire builder) only to be beaten at the auction on Saturday by a 19 year old spoilt brat. Now nothing against 19 year olds of course or 19 spoilt brats (well actually...) but a 19 year old spoilt brat who's Daddy said don't worry sweetie keep bidding I'll make up the shortfall. THE UGLY.

I could go on about how we work hard for our money (honey) and that we don't need Daddy to help us - and ha we certainly don't need to wear our best disco outfit to the buying of our new house. But it's funny really and I don't need to whinge about that cause well, whatever, surely it's self explanatory.

I've never really had an official opinion of the best time for the week to end - Saturday or Sunday but we decided after we calmed down with the aid of a few cans of Melbourne (that's Beer friends) that Saturday was definitely the last day of that crappy week.

I know how you feel, it seems I've had a lot of those weeks lately! The "sanity badge" turned out uber cute, you have nice hand sewing abilities! :)

Wait till the roof leaks and the 19 year old has to do maintenance.

Oh, right, that's what daddy is for.....

Bugger about the house, but this is a new week, right?

Maybe you could move in to your sanity house? It looks cozy. I know you'll find the right house B. And I know I've said it already but i'm still super uber proud of you.

Such a bummer! I am so sorry. It is frustrating how things like that can dominate your week, and then to watch it go to someone like that! :-(

I hope this week is relaxing, enjoyable, and you get some good craft time in. Fun badge! Hand stitching is always a nice way to relax.

Spewin' to hear about the house, but at least you had some frosty Melbs to help get you through. Word on the street is it works wonders ;)

oh bugger on the house buying. We are too conservative and boring in Perth to auction so I can't imagine what you are going through. Maybe the 19 year old will contract a horrible disease from one of her free loading friends that surely will drop in? and yes, that is my new kitchen, you should have seen the BEFORE photos! Best of lucky on the crappyness! love the badge!

Aparently something the size of a washing machine crashed into the moon earlier this week, so morons can be expected for yet another week! I blame Princess Meena, she has been giving me filthies since I posted the Albert picture on Dear Kel. I am sure she was at your auction, as well. She gets around that one!

House buying sucks. Its just a bigger, more scary version of going dress shopping for a really important night out when you're feeling gross and you have a huge zit and your hair is greasy. Some are too dull, some are too gaudy and then *amazingly* you find the perfect one and its not in your size, or someone snatches it from you or something. But the good news is that once you do get a house you forget all about the trouble of finding it...and you don't have to do it again for a long time. Fingers crossed for you!

House buying and selling are both the pits. They scare me into snuggling down in my unrenovated ramshackle cottage and burying my head in my fabric stash.

Ah woe is you! I so know the missed out on a house at auction thing - happened to us numerous times last year. Five building/pest inspections and many thousands later, we landed the white whale. Hopefully your white whale will be surfacing in an area near you soon.

Sorry to hear about the house. Think positive, the right house is out there waiting for you.

great badge, shame about the 19 year old spoilt brat and the house....hate auctions, way too stressful! Your house is still out there somewhere waiting for you just like mine was (my husband told me that when a house I had fallen in love with sold before we were ready to buy...not that it really helped much but hey...)
