Taking back Saturday

I'm officially taking back my Saturdays, no longer will I traipse around the suburbs handing out my mobile phone number and full name to every greedy, greasey BMW driving 22 year old real estate agent. Nor will I be gingerly opening other people's bedroom doors only to find a family of six sleeping in the bed. Nor will I be greeted by the chain smoking tennants sitting on the lounge watching right wing "current affairs" TV while their dog shits all over the concrete back porch. Or perhaps most disturbingly no more wandering into people's house full of hired furniture and overly arranged photographs and the smell of freshly brewed coffee and freshly baked bread.

That's right no more peeking into the lifestyles of the dull and infamous in the hope of buying their (or their landlords) house cause we bought our own house baby. Yipee! Come knock on our front door sometime

and I'll invite you into our kitchen for a cupcake and some delicious tea.

And maybe you'll bring me one of those cool tea towels for my oven that everyone's been buying from Meet Me At Mikes.

Now, because apparently this is a craft blog I will finish with some gratuitous yarn shots. Oooo Rowan.

that's so exciting - love that red door. I hated the house hunting rat race - although I am a nosy parker and love looking at other people's stuff! That rowan wool is delicious too.

Shaz it's for someone elses BBBB! It's a beanie and then maybe some matching booties. Not sure how the cotton is going with this pattern though so we'll see.

Congratulations! I know exactly what you mean about house hunting - finding a house is great, but not having to keep looking is almost as sweet :)

Happy Housewarming!

Hey congratulations on the house purchase. It took us three years of looking to find ours and I swear I will never move again.(unless we win Tattslotto and can afford to move to Elwood).
I once viewed a house with a ferret locked in the toilet and the bath full of fish on ice.
I also opened a bedroom door once to be greeted by a waft of last night's beer and cigarettes and "piss off, I'm trying to sleep".
Thanks for the Rowan shot - lovely. Knitting p@#n (won't use the full word in case it causes swat teams to knock down my door in the middle of the night).
